Casa del Sol sits at La Punta, twenty rooms around a courtyard and lush gardens. You come here to slow down, settle in, and stay a little longer than you planned.
Start your mornings with a surf, a yoga class, a walk on the beach, or coffee and your laptop beneath the trees. The Wi-Fi is fast enough to work seriously, and the atmosphere is good enough to make you forget you are.
Close enough to feel the pulse of Montañita. Far enough to sleep deeply, think clearly, and wake up to the sound of the ocean.

The chef makes a fresh, rotating menu every morning. Blackberry french toast, egg and bean quesadillas, local fruit. Tell them your dietary requirements and they will work around it. Served 8:30 to 10:00 daily, and non-guests are welcome for $5.
The bar
After a day of surfing and yoga, a cold beer, a glass of wine, or a cocktail. Murals and decorations from around the world, and the place where the next day's surf gets planned.
Groups
They cater group lunches and dinners for travelling schools, surf tours, and yoga retreats. Every year they host an American Thanksgiving and a Christmas dinner, open to anyone in town who reserves a spot.
Surf
Ecuador's best surf break, right in front of Casa del Sol.
Wake up with a coffee, stroll to the beach, and check the waves at La Punta, Montañita's most consistent surf break. Whether you are here to learn the basics or to sharpen your skills, surfing at Casa del Sol becomes part of your daily rhythm. The instructors teach in English and Spanish.
On flat days they will organise horseback riding in the jungle, paragliding, or a boat out to Isla de la Plata. Or take a leisurely stroll down the beach and watch the surfers do their thing.
Bring a swimsuit and sunscreen. Boards and rash guards provided.

Yoga
Step into our bamboo shala.
What started as a small space for self practice and casual classes among friends now runs seven classes a week, taught by local and international instructors. Listen to the sound of the ocean, and leave ready for your next surf session.
Drop in for $10, or book a private session for $50 plus $5 for each additional person. Guests get a discounted five class pass.
Surf & stay
Seven days, six nights, the full Montañita surf camp.
Five 90 minute lessons, unlimited board use, and photos or short video from the water. Three yoga classes and one 90 minute massage. Six nights, six vegetarian breakfasts, unlimited drinking water, and a bag of laundry.
